Soon our experience will be that an awakening revaluation of our towns economy, our counties economy, is still unstable. Enough of an instability that it will negatively effect the level of funding that we are asked to perpetuate.
I wonder what will be the first sign of this stress as it effects our towns ( SERVICES???? )
With a conservative 10% of the workforce effected to a recently viewed report that as much as 25% is the realistic overall picture, I will choose to value this figure slightly around 12%.
What ever you believe this figure falls, it is certain that you know of some town family that is approaching an economic desperation.
So once again, my simple minded math tells me that collectively, a minimum of 10% of this years tax collection will not be received by this town and in light of such thinking, comparing it to any budget, I have to wonder if this years / next years budget will show a proportionate decline.
Now the cynical side of the question.
When we make it through the times ahead, how was it that we couldn't live without such high taxes before ?

I think it was because everybody could afford a vacation from reality in times past, so no one was watching what was cooking in the kitchen.
Now that hunger is the predominant pastime, we watch the kitchen more closely.
