PostVote to Maintain Posted: 2017/03/12 12:57pm  Reply with quote

I know that voting against the grain it is not a popular view to the people with ambitions, but hear me out.

Everyone of us wants to move ahead.

We all work towards our vision of improving our situations, and we are socially pushed to being recognizes as emphatic.

We all want a better world for our loved ones to inherit from our generation.

So we build new schools, we approve new fire stations everyone gets a raise, and the cycle of this story continues year after year.

The basic problem is that, long before you get up in the morning inflation ruins the math.
The creation of more currency ( NOT MONEY )( use the right term here) is what we are suppose to believe will cure the problem.

But it is the problem!

No matter how much you have, it will never again buy what it did last year.

Prices go up to compensate for the dairy farmers expenses because he too wants a better world for his children, and so on.

So the cycle continues and for a brief moment all of the approved tax increases satisfy the wants of the year.
And next year, the process starts all over again.

We seem to be unaware of the cycle of life, I mean taxes.

My raise goes into taxes for your raise, to pay for the milk that keeps the farmer alive.

And the presents of the increased amounts of currency it's just enough that you might think that, if you work a little bit harder, there's a glimmer of hope that this year you might finally be able to get a leg up on this pile of $hit

The only hope of controlling the situation is at the yearly voting. SUPPOSEDLY. ( I refer to the tax cap issue )

Voting to maintain Litchfield's infrastructure rather than growing it would shave a few peso's off of the amount of extra taxes that this year requires if it is to GROW.

We are never going to get out off of this merry go round, so I ask you to look around.

Do you like what you see, or do you think Litchfield will look better with traffic lights someday?

About the traffic light, it's with a little bit of irony I think we do need traffic lights.

Put them on Liberty Way in Litchfield.
