PostLitchfield Baseball 2010 Spring Registration
DONE: 2010/01/26
Posted: 2010/01/26 11:25am  Reply with quote

The Litchfield Baseball Association is pleased to announce that registration is currently open for the 2010 spring season. The LBA is a chartered league of Babe Ruth Baseball, Inc., offering programs for ages 5 through 15 (DOB must be between April 30, 1995 and May 1, 2004). Note that league ages are calculated on a May 1 boundary, and not January 1; refer to the league age chart on the league website for ages and divisions. Fees for 2010 remain unchanged from 2009: T-Ball & Rookie $70, Minor & Major $90, Babe Ruth & Prep $115 (cap of $225 for families with multiple children in the program). Registration closes on March 1, after which point a late fee will apply. Registration can be done online via the Internet at http://www.sportssignup.com/litchfieldbaseball, or by obtaining and turning in a hardcopy form. More information can be found on the league website at http://www.litchfieldbaseball.com. The league offers financial assistance if needed. Contact Alan Hood (email alan.hood(at)hoodlinks.net) or Peter Moore (moore_peter(at)comcast.net, 424-0490) for details or questions. See you on the ball field soon!

Regards,
Peter Moore
President - LBA

Hi Peter,
I am very interested in signing up both of my boys for baseball. What do I click on to get my boys registered? I can't find Litchfield Baseball Association or 2010 Spring Registration.

Where do I go?
Thank you in advance,
Karena[/i]

I just noticed they were including the comma and period immediately following the URL's, so I have corrected that. Click on the links in the post above.

I wanted to check because the post has the date of May 2004 as the cut off but the registration website says May 2005. My son has a DOB of April 2005- is he eligible for T-Ball?

April 2005 s/b OK - here's an age chart:

http://baberuthleague.org/resources/2010BBBirthChart.pdf

Basically, it's your child's age as of 4/30/10 11:59:59PM that dictates age for baseball. So if you're 5 years old as of 5/1/10 12:00:00AM, then you are OK. It's a strange way to have to think about age.

It used to be July 31, but they changed it about 5 years ago. Rumor is it'll be pushed back to Jan 1 at some point in the near term. Given how large some of the kids are at 12 years old, they may be heading in the wrong direction! For those with older kids you know what I mean!

Registration has been extended until Friday 3/5. If you have not yet registered for baseball, please do so now, as we need to begin forming teams and ordering uniforms.
